Terms of service

These terms govern your use of datamint's crawling and extraction services. By creating an account or making a request, you agree to them.

1. The service

datamint retrieves publicly accessible web pages on your instruction and returns normalized output — Markdown, or JSON validated against a schema you supply. You are responsible for the URLs you submit.

2. Acceptable use

Your use of the service is also governed by our acceptable use policy, which forms part of these terms. In summary: publicly accessible data only.

3. Accounts and API keys

  • You are responsible for keeping your API keys confidential. Keys are stored only as hashes; we cannot recover a lost key, only revoke it.
  • Activity under your keys is attributed to your account, including credit consumption.
  • Notify us promptly if you believe a key has been compromised.

4. Credits and billing

  • Requests are priced in credits. Current multipliers are published on our pricing page.
  • Credits are consumed on successful delivery. A request that returns no usable data is not billed.
  • Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance through our payment processor and renew automatically until cancelled.
  • Cancelling stops future renewals. You retain access through the end of the period already paid for. Credits already consumed are not refundable.

5. Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service except where a signed service level agreement provides otherwise. Uptime and success-rate commitments apply only to agreements that state them explicitly.

6. Third-party targets

We do not control the sites you ask us to retrieve. A target may change its markup, tighten its bot defences, or become unavailable. Where a published schema no longer matches a target, we treat that as a defect in our pipeline rather than a failure of the target.

7. Liability

The service is provided on an as-is basis. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced by email or in the dashboard before taking effect for existing accounts.
