Quickstart

Create a key in the dashboard, then make a request. There is no SDK to install: the API is plain HTTP.

1. Create an API key

In the dashboard, open API keys and create one. The plaintext key is shown once. Only a hash is stored, so it cannot be recovered. Keys are prefixed mint_live_ or mint_test_.

Full details, including how authentication failures are reported, are under Authentication.

2. Make a request

curl -X POST https://api.datamint.xyz/v1/mint \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer mint_live_xxx" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{
    "url": "https://example.com/item/123",
    "schema": "ecommerce_item",
    "js": true
  }'

js renders the page in a headless browser. stealth routes through residential proxies. schema runs the structured extraction pass. Each raises the credit cost. See Credits.

Endpoints

POST /v1/mint

Synchronous single-page extraction. Returns Markdown or schema-validated JSON.

POST /v1/crawl

Asynchronous deep crawl with depth controls and out-of-band delivery.

Reference →

POST /v1/extract

Zero-code schema extraction from a JSON Schema or a registered schema name.

What you get back

By default a request returns cleaned Markdown with navigation, script, and boilerplate stripped. Pass a schema and you get validated JSON in that shape instead, or an error if the page cannot be mapped to it.

datamint retrieves publicly accessible data only. Requests against paywalled or authenticated content are refused, PII is redacted at ingestion, and robots.txt is respected by default. See the acceptable use policy.

Model Context Protocol (MCP) server

Our official Model Context Protocol server is live at https://mcp.datamint.xyz/sse. AI agents in Cursor, Claude Desktop, Claude Code, Windsurf, LangChain, or custom Python / Node.js runtimes can connect directly via Server-Sent Events (SSE) or local stdio without writing scraper boilerplate.

# Connect Cursor or Claude Desktop via SSE:
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "datamint": {
      "url": "https://mcp.datamint.xyz/sse"
    }
  }
}

See MCP server documentation for full agent configuration guides, Python and Node.js SDK examples, and parameter references.
