Bright Data alternative

datamint vs Bright Data

An enterprise web data platform built on one of the largest proxy networks, sold primarily through sales. Here is how the two compare, priced from published information rather than from a benchmark we ran.

Why teams switch

Why teams look for a Bright Data alternative.

Usually one of three things: the bill is hard to predict, a target stopped returning content, or the shape of the response is wrong for the pipeline downstream.

  • 1

You want to start without a sales conversation and know the price before signing up.

  • 2

Per-record pricing on a short trial run is hard to predict at low volume.

  • 3

You need the credit cost of a harder request published rather than quoted.

In their favour

Where Bright Data is the stronger choice.

Teams pick them for these reasons, and switching does not solve any of them.

  • The largest proxy network in the market. They advertise 400M+ monthly residential IPs, which matters for geo-distributed collection at scale.

  • Real enterprise compliance posture: SOC 2, ISO 27001, DPA, and dedicated account management.

  • Product coverage well beyond scraping, including datasets, SERP APIs, and a scraping browser.

  • A free tier of 5,000 records or requests per month with no card.

Where datamint differs

What changes if you switch.

How the two bill, and what they hand back, compared without a verdict on quality.

  • Bright Data prices per delivered record or request rather than per credit, and both the Web Scraper API and Web Unlocker are $1.50 per 1,000 on pay-as-you-go.

  • Their self-serve Scale plan is $499 per month. datamint's entry paid tier is $49.

  • datamint publishes a credit multiplier per transport tier. Bright Data's entry pricing is flat per record, with no published surcharge for JavaScript rendering. The feature is listed as included at every tier.

datamint's credit model

$1 = 1,000 credits. A request is routed across transport tiers automatically and billed at the tier that succeeded.

Questions

Before you switch.

Bright Data looks more expensive. Is it?

At the Scale tier, $499 per month for 384,000 records works out to roughly $1.30 per 1,000, against datamint's $0.66 per 1,000 standard at the Scale tier. But the two are not billing the same thing. If your workload is dominated by hard targets that escalate to stealth routing on datamint, the 15-credit multiplier puts datamint at $9.97 per 1,000, well above Bright Data's flat per-record rate. Price your actual mix.

What does Bright Data offer that datamint does not?

Scale of proxy network and enterprise procurement. 400M+ residential IPs, SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certification, signed SLAs, and an account manager are genuine requirements at enterprise scale, and datamint does not match them today.

Can I try datamint without talking to sales?

Yes. The free tier is 1,000 credits per month with no card, and Builder is self-serve at $49. Bright Data's free and pay-as-you-go tiers are also self-serve, but Scale and Enterprise route through sales.
